• avoid very hot baths and the sauna on the day of the treatment if your specialist advises it
• watch your skin — temporary redness or slight tenderness may persist briefly

Contraindications to the Body Express protocol (eligibility is assessed by a cosmetologist):

• pregnancy and breastfeeding
• cancer and a history of cancer without a physician's consent
• thrombosis, clotting disorders or taking anticoagulant medication
• varicose veins, phlebitis and venous insufficiency in the treatment area
• active infections, skin inflammation or wounds in the treatment area
• an implanted pacemaker or other electronic implants (applies to shockwave therapy)
• uncontrolled chronic conditions (e.g. diabetes) and epilepsy
