What the treatment involves

Skin renewal programs are not a single treatment but a whole family of courses based on medical peels, which we select individually after a consultation. We use proven professional dermocosmetic lines, including PCA Skin, Pro Xn and Cell Fusion, to match the formula and depth of action to the condition of your skin.

A medical peel involves the controlled exfoliation of the epidermis with active substances (including AHA/BHA acids, mandelic acid, pyruvic acid or TCA), which stimulates the skin to regenerate and remodel itself. Depending on the need, we prepare anti-aging, brightening (for discoloration), anti-acne and anti-redness variants.

Because the type, concentration and number of treatments are decided by a qualified cosmetologist, the course is safe and adapted to your phototype, skin sensitivity and skin care goal.

Indications

We most often recommend skin renewal programs and medical peels for:

  • signs of photoaging — fine wrinkles, roughness and loss of radiance
  • discoloration, uneven skin tone and tired-looking skin
  • acne-prone, oily skin with blackheads
  • enlarged pores and irregular skin texture
  • the need to refresh the skin and prepare it for other treatments

How the treatment works

The course is preceded by a consultation during which we assess the condition and phototype of your skin and set the goal — rejuvenation, brightening of discoloration, reduction of acne lesions or soothing of redness. On that basis we choose the appropriate product line and type of peel.

During the treatment we cleanse and degrease the skin thoroughly and then apply the exfoliating product for a precisely controlled time. You may feel temporary stinging or warmth. We finish the treatment with neutralization (if required), soothing products and sun protection.

Results

The effect depends on the type of course and builds up gradually. After the series, the skin is usually smoother, more radiant and more even in tone, and with anti-acne programs the number of imperfections decreases.

Medical peels work best as a course of treatments and in combination with appropriate home care. The result is individual, and how long it lasts depends on your lifestyle, sun protection and the regularity of the treatments.

Aftercare

After a medical peel, the skin needs gentle care and consistent sun protection. Remember to:

  • use gentle, moisturizing and soothing products for a few days
  • always use a UV filter 50+ and avoid sun exposure and tanning beds
  • never pick at the peeling epidermis and do not use mechanical scrubs
  • postpone intense exercise, the sauna and the swimming pool for a few days
  • follow the recommendations regarding active cosmetics (for example retinol, acids) between treatments

Contraindications

Contraindications (a cosmetologist carries out the qualification):

  • pregnancy and breastfeeding (some products)
  • active skin infections, cold sores and inflammation in the treatment area
  • a fresh tan and a tendency to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation without appropriate preparation
  • taking oral retinoids (for example isotretinoin) and recent resurfacing treatments
  • allergy to the ingredients of the product and a tendency to keloids

The final qualification and the choice of the type of peel are carried out by a cosmetologist during the consultation.
