Treatment

Lipolysis – fat tissue reduction

Injection lipolysis is a non-invasive reduction of localized excess fat — the product dissolves fat cells in areas resistant to diet and exercise, such as a „double chin”.

What the treatment involves

Injection lipolysis is a non-invasive method of reducing localized fat accumulations resistant to diet and exercise. A product is administered into selected areas, dissolving and destroying fat cells.

The active substances are usually phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate (deoxycholic acid); L-carnitine, which supports fat metabolism, is often added. The released fat is transported to the liver, where it is metabolized and eliminated from the body.

Indications

The treatment works well for small, localized excess fat — it is not a method of treating obesity. The most common indications are:

  • the „double chin” and submandibular area
  • love handles and excess on the hips
  • the abdomen and navel area
  • the arms and nape area
  • the back and bra area
  • the inner thighs

How the treatment works

The treatment is preceded by a consultation and an assessment of whether the excess fat qualifies for injection lipolysis.

For sensitive individuals we can apply local anesthesia. We administer the product with a special, long and fine needle into the selected areas of fat accumulation. The procedure lasts 30–60 minutes.

Results

First results may be visible as early as a few days later, but the full effect usually becomes apparent after about 3 weeks, once the body has removed the dissolved fat. The effect builds up gradually over the first weeks.

Destroyed fat cells do not regenerate, so the effect is permanent — provided a healthy diet and physical activity are maintained. A series of 2–3 treatments is usually needed.

Aftercare

The treatment requires no recovery, but swelling (subsiding in about 7 days), redness, bruising (absorbing in about 14 days), tenderness and itching may occur — these are normal symptoms of fat cell breakdown. To support the effect:

  • drink plenty of water to help remove the dissolved fat
  • follow a low-fat and low-carbohydrate diet
  • consider lymphatic drainage or vacuum massage (e.g. endermology)
  • be physically active and wear loose clothing immediately after the treatment

In addition, the general rules after injection treatments apply. The body removes the dissolved fat gradually — the full effect is visible after about 3 weeks; report intense or painful swelling to the clinic:

  • for the first 24 hours skip alcohol and very intense exertion
  • cool compresses help with tenderness and swelling
  • if the treated area is exposed, protect it from the sun with UV 50+
  • use the sauna and pool only after the swelling and bruising have resolved

Contraindications

We do not perform the treatment in cases including:

  • pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • blood clotting disorders
  • liver and kidney diseases
  • diabetes and epilepsy
  • allergy to components of the product (including soy, shellfish)
  • extensive obesity and active skin infections at the injection sites

The final qualification is carried out by the doctor during the consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Is injection lipolysis a weight-loss method?+

No — it serves to reduce small, localized excess fat resistant to diet and exercise, not to treat obesity.

Is the effect permanent?+

Yes — destroyed fat cells do not regenerate, but maintaining the effect requires a healthy diet and activity.

Does the treatment hurt?+

Slight discomfort and burning may occur; for sensitive individuals we use local anesthesia.

How many treatments are needed?+

Usually a series of 2–3 treatments at 4–8 week intervals, sometimes one is enough.

When will I see the effect?+

First results after a few days, full effect after about 3 weeks.

Will there be bruising and swelling after the treatment?+

Yes, these are typical symptoms of fat breakdown — swelling usually subsides in about 7 days, and bruising in about 14 days.

How much does injection lipolysis cost?+

The treatment costs 500 zł per ampoule. You will receive an exact quote during your consultation, and the full breakdown can be found in the price list.
