What the treatment involves
The thulium laser with a wavelength of 1927 nm is a modern fractional device whose light is strongly absorbed by the water contained in the surface layers of the skin. As a result, the energy reaches precisely where discoloration and signs of photoaging accumulate, without damaging deeper structures.
The treatment creates microcolumns of controlled action in the epidermis, which stimulate natural cell renewal and collagen production. The result is more even, smooth and radiant skin — the so-called "baby face" effect.
Indications
We recommend this treatment primarily for:
- discoloration, including sun spots and melasma
- uneven skin tone and dull, tired-looking skin
- fine wrinkles and loss of firmness
- enlarged pores
- acne scars and stretch marks
- regeneration of the delicate skin around the eyes
How the treatment works
The treatment is preceded by a consultation, during which the cosmetologist assesses your skin and selects the parameters. If needed, we apply a numbing cream.
We pass the laser handpiece over the treated area; the device can work in non-ablative, sub-ablative or ablative mode, depending on the goal of the therapy. The whole procedure usually takes 30–60 minutes.
Results
The skin gradually brightens, skin tone evens out and discoloration becomes less visible. Smoothness and firmness improve.
The effect builds over several weeks as collagen rebuilds. A series of treatments gives the best results.
Aftercare
Recovery is short, but the skin needs attentive care. Remember to:
- avoid the sun and tanning beds, and use a cream with SPF 30+ for several weeks
- care for your skin only with the products recommended by your cosmetologist
- not pick at the fine flakes and scabs that form
We also ask you to follow the clinic's protocol for post-laser treatments. The full effect can be visible after 2–12 weeks and usually requires a series; if any unusual symptoms appear, contact the clinic:
- for about 7 days, wash your skin only with gentle products
- for 72 hours, skip intense physical activity (running, fitness)
- use the pool and sauna only once your skin has fully healed
- because of the risk of discoloration, avoid the sun for up to 6 months and use SPF 50+
Contraindications
We do not perform this treatment in cases such as:
- pregnancy and breastfeeding
- an active bacterial or viral skin infection
- taking isotretinoin within the last 6–9 months
- scleroderma, healing disorders or immune disorders
- a tendency to cold sores and recurrent infections
- very dark skin (phototype VI)
Final qualification is carried out by the cosmetologist during the consultation.
