What the treatment involves

The treatment uses light energy that is selectively absorbed by skin pigments — melanin responsible for pigmentation and haemoglobin in the vessels causing redness. The heated cells and vessels undergo controlled damage, and the body gradually removes them.

It is an effective method for two common problems at once: uneven tone and redness. The built-in cooling system ensures your comfort during the treatment.

Pigmentation is not uniform. Sun spots, freckles and post-acne pigmentation usually respond well to light treatment. Melasma — pigmentation of hormonal origin, often appearing during pregnancy or with contraception — is sometimes qualified differently: in our clinics we usually direct it to depigmentation therapy, and among laser methods we consider the 1927 nm thulium laser. The choice of method is decided by the cosmetologist during the consultation, after assessing the type and depth of the lesions.

Indications

We recommend the treatment primarily for:

  • pigmentation — sun spots, freckles, uneven tone
  • melasma — often combined with depigmentation therapy
  • redness, especially on the cheeks, nose and chin
  • dilated, fine vessels
  • rosacea in the erythematotelangiectatic and papulopustular forms
  • mild vascular lesions

How the treatment works

The cosmetologist assesses the type, depth and extent of the lesions and sometimes performs a laser test. We cleanse the skin, protect the eyes and apply gel.

We perform the treatment with a device emitting pulsed light with a cooling system. It usually takes 30–60 minutes.

Results

Pigmentation lightens, redness fades and fine vessels close. The skin gains a more even, healthy tone.

The best effects appear after healing is complete and a full series has been performed; studies confirm that the improvement is maintained for many months.

Aftercare

After the treatment, the skin may be slightly red or swollen. Remember to:

  • not sunbathe immediately after the treatment and use a cream with at least SPF 30
  • care for the skin with the products recommended by the cosmetologist
  • stop retinoids and phototoxic substances a month before the series, and peels and mesotherapy 2 weeks before

Our post-laser treatment recommendations are a complement to this. We assess the effect after the series, usually within 2–12 weeks; report any unusual symptoms to the clinic:

  • apply the cream indicated by the cosmetologist to the skin
  • for a week, wash the skin with gentle products and do not irritate the treated areas
  • avoid heavy physical exertion for 72 hours
  • use the pool and sauna once the skin has fully healed
  • protect the skin from the sun especially carefully — for up to 6 months — using SPF 50+

Contraindications

We do not perform the treatment, among others, in cases of:

  • pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • uncontrolled diabetes and cancer
  • fresh tan or the use of self-tanners
  • taking photosensitising medications (antibiotics, retinoids, tetracyclines)
  • epilepsy, vitiligo and active psoriasis
  • clotting disorders and a tendency to keloids

The final qualification is carried out by the cosmetologist during the consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the treatment help with rosacea?+

Yes — laser light effectively reduces the redness and fine vessels typical of rosacea, as confirmed by clinical studies.

Does the laser remove pigmentation permanently?+

Lightened pigmentation usually does not return, but new spots may form under the influence of the sun — which is why SPF protection is essential.

Will the laser help with melasma?+

Melasma requires a different approach than ordinary sun-induced pigmentation. We usually direct it to depigmentation therapy, and among laser methods we consider the 1927 nm thulium laser. The decision is made by the cosmetologist during the consultation — melasma has a hormonal basis and can recur, so consistent sun protection is also key.

Does the treatment hurt?+

You feel a slight stinging and warmth, eased by the cooling system.

How many treatments will I need?+

We usually recommend 3–6 treatments at 4-week intervals; the number is tailored by the cosmetologist to the type of lesions.

When is the best time to have the treatment?+

Autumn and winter are best; in summer, consistent protection with SPF 30+ is essential.

Can I return to work after the treatment?+

Yes, immediately — only temporary redness or slight swelling is possible.

How much does laser for pigmentation and redness cost?+

The treatment costs from 800 to 1000 zł, depending on the scope and area. You will receive an exact quote during the consultation, and the full list can be found in the price list.
