What the treatment involves

This is a modern injectable product that combines two mechanisms of action in a single product: cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) and microparticles of calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA). Thanks to this it simultaneously deeply hydrates the skin and stimulates it to produce its own collagen.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the skin with strong water-binding properties — it is responsible for hydration, firmness and elasticity. Calcium hydroxyapatite, in turn, is a biocompatible material with documented biostimulating action: it stimulates fibroblasts and promotes neocollagenesis, that is the formation of new collagen in the skin.

The combination of both components means the product works on two fronts — it gives a quickly perceptible improvement in hydration and skin quality, while at the same time triggering a longer biostimulation process that improves skin firmness and density in the following weeks. The collagen-renewal properties of calcium hydroxyapatite have been described in scientific publications.

At the Dr Kuschill MEDESTETIS clinics in Krakow and Warsaw the treatment is preceded by a consultation and medical qualification. It is the doctor who assesses the indications, selects the area and depth of administration and plans any series.

Indications

A product combining hyaluronic acid with calcium hydroxyapatite is used when the goal is simultaneous hydration and improvement of the skin's quality and firmness. Indications include:

  • dry, dehydrated and gray skin
  • loss of firmness, tone and elasticity
  • fine wrinkles and general signs of aging on the face, neck and décolletage
  • tired skin lacking radiance and density
  • a desire to improve skin quality with a simultaneous biostimulation effect
  • prevention and maintenance of mature skin condition

How the treatment works

The treatment begins with a consultation, skin assessment and qualification. We cleanse and disinfect the skin and, if needed, apply a numbing cream.

The product is administered intradermally with a fine needle or cannula — point by point or linearly, depending on the area. The treatment usually lasts 30–45 minutes.

Depending on the skin's condition, the doctor may recommend one treatment or a short series (usually 1–2 treatments) to achieve and maintain the effect. The treatment plan is set individually.

Results

The effect is two-stage: the hydration and improved skin quality thanks to hyaluronic acid is visible relatively quickly, while the biostimulation effect — improved firmness, density and tone thanks to new collagen — builds over the following weeks.

Results usually last several to a dozen or so months and are individual in nature; they require periodic maintenance. Effects cannot be guaranteed — they depend, among other things, on the skin's starting condition, the area and lifestyle.

Aftercare

After the treatment it is worth being gentle with the skin for a few days. You will receive detailed recommendations in writing; they usually include:

  • gentle cleansing and avoiding vigorous rubbing of the injection sites
  • avoiding makeup on the day of the treatment (usually about 12–24 h)
  • refraining from the sauna, pool, intense exertion and hot baths for a few days
  • sun protection (SPF) and avoiding the solarium
  • avoiding alcohol and blood-thinning medication in the treatment area (as recommended by the doctor)

Contraindications

The treatment is performed by a doctor after qualification. Contraindications include:

  • pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • active infection or inflammation at the treatment site
  • a tendency toward keloids
  • active autoimmune diseases
  • blood clotting disorders
  • hypersensitivity to the product's components
  • cancer during treatment

The final qualification and exclusion of contraindications is carried out by the doctor during the consultation.

Frequently asked questions

How does this product differ from classic hyaluronic acid?+

Besides the hydration provided by hyaluronic acid, the product contains calcium hydroxyapatite, which additionally biostimulates the skin to produce collagen — thanks to which the skin's firmness and density also improve.

Does the treatment hurt?+

The injections are small and usually well tolerated. If needed we use a numbing cream; most people describe the treatment as mildly noticeable.

When will I see effects and how long do they last?+

Improved hydration is visible relatively quickly, while the biostimulation effect builds over a few weeks. Results usually last several to a dozen or so months and are individual.

How many treatments are needed?+

Depending on the skin's condition, the doctor may recommend one treatment or a short series (usually 1–2). The exact plan is set during the consultation.

Is this a filler for reshaping the features?+

It is primarily a product that improves skin quality — it hydrates and biostimulates. If the goal is to model volume and features, the doctor may propose a different solution.

Are there visible marks after the treatment?+

Transient redness, swelling or minor bruising may appear at the injection sites, which usually resolve within a few days.

How much does hyaluronic acid with hydroxyapatite cost?+

The treatment costs from 1000 to 1500 zł, depending on the scope and area. You will receive an exact quote during your consultation, and the full breakdown can be found in the price list.
