What the treatment involves
Volumetry is the modeling of the facial contour by rebuilding lost volume. With age the subcutaneous tissue disappears and the supporting structures of the face „melt away” — the cheeks hollow out, the contour drops, and the features look tired.
In the treatment we administer hyaluronic acid into selected, deeper tissue layers, replenishing lost volume and lifting the descending structures. We introduce the product using the hyaluronic thread technique — a microcannula with a rounded tip, thanks to which only a minimal number of punctures is needed and the risk of bruising is markedly lower.
Indications
The treatment is recommended for loss of volume and sagging of the facial contour. The most common indications are:
- loss of volume in the cheeks and zygomatic area
- a drooping, undefined facial contour
- modeling of the chin and jawline
- correction of folds and wrinkles resulting from lack of volume
- rejuvenation of the eye area and „tear troughs”
- improving facial proportions and symmetry
How the treatment works
The treatment is preceded by a consultation verifying indications and contraindications, along with an analysis of facial proportions.
We numb the skin with a cream (or, on request, anesthesia similar to that used in dentistry). We introduce the product with a microcannula as it is withdrawn, through a minimal number of punctures. The procedure lasts from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the scope.
Results
The firming and volume-rebuilding effect is visible immediately — the face looks rested and the contour more defined. The full result becomes apparent after about 2 weeks.
The effect usually lasts from 9 to 12 months, and in favorable cases even up to 18 — depending on the product and lifestyle.
Aftercare
Thanks to the microcannula technique the risk of bruising is limited, and mild irritation usually subsides within a few hours. It is nevertheless worth:
- applying gels or ointments with arnica, vitamin C or K if bruising appears
- not massaging the modeled areas for the first few days
- avoiding the sauna, solarium and intense exertion for about 2 weeks
- expecting possible mild swelling lasting up to 2 days
Beyond the above, we apply the standard post-treatment protocol for fillers. The final appearance of the contour is visible after about 2 weeks, once the product has stabilized; if any concerning symptoms appear, let us know:
- hold off on air travel for the first 24 hours
- sleep on your back for the first few nights, with your head slightly raised (about 45°)
- skip makeup for the first 24 hours, then remove it gently for 2–3 days
- protect the modeled areas from sun, wind and frost as long as swelling persists
- stay hydrated — at least 1.5–2 l of water a day for 2 weeks
- wait about 8 weeks before scaling and any planned dental procedures
Contraindications
We do not perform the treatment in cases including:
- pregnancy and breastfeeding
- allergy to hyaluronic acid
- active autoimmune diseases
- a tendency toward hypertrophic scars and keloids
- inflammation and skin infections (herpes, acne)
